How to Keep the Mount

So, this is the beginning of “Mount month”. I’ll be posting grappling dummy training from the mount over the next month for you.

In this video, I show you several grappling dummy drills & techniques you can train to keep the mount position on your opponent.

Here’s the drills / techniques in the video:

  • Grapevines
  • Swimming inside his arms
  • Hooking his head
  • Push his arm across and trap it
  • Scoop his wrist or elbow
  • Let opponent carry your weight
  • Alternating between grapevines and high mount
  • Blocking his head
  • Transition to knee on stomach

These techniques are all demonstrated on the Submission Master grappling dummy.
